Privacy Policy

Mufka is a free, open‑source planner and notes app for macOS, made by Calexis Labs (“we”). This policy explains what data Mufka handles and how. In short: Mufka runs on your Mac and keeps your data there. There is no Mufka account, no Mufka server, no analytics and no advertising.

Last updated: 15 October 2026

Data that stays on your Mac

  • Notes — plain Markdown files in the folder you choose (by default ~/Library/Application Support/Mufka/Notes, or any folder such as an Obsidian vault).
  • Plans and settings — in ~/Library/Application Support/Mufka.

We never receive, collect or see any of this. Mufka does not send your notes or plans anywhere.

Optional connections

Mufka connects to other services only when you choose to, in Settings → Calendars or Meeting notes. Each connection is read‑only: Mufka never creates, changes or deletes anything in these services.

Google Calendar

  • What Mufka accesses: with the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly permission, the list of your calendars and their events (title, time, location, attendees, organizer, conference link); with openid, email and profile, your name and email to show which account is connected.
  • How it is used: only to show your events in Mufka’s Planner and on its Home page, and to open a meeting’s link when you click Join meeting.
  • Where it is kept: events are held in Mufka’s memory on your Mac while it runs; the sign‑in (access and refresh tokens) is stored on your Mac, encrypted with a key kept in your macOS Keychain. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else.
  • Sharing: we do not share, sell or transfer Google user data, and do not use it for advertising or to train AI or machine‑learning models.
Mufka’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Microsoft (Outlook, Teams)

  • What Mufka accesses: with the Calendars.Read and User.Read permissions, your calendars and their events and your name, through Microsoft Graph.
  • How it is used, kept and shared: exactly as for Google above — shown in Mufka only, sign‑in stored encrypted on your Mac, never sent to us or shared.

Wispr Flow

  • If you connect Wispr Flow, Mufka reads your Notetaker meetings (summaries, notes, tasks, transcripts) through Wispr Flow’s read‑only MCP server and saves each one as a Markdown note in your notes folder on your Mac.
